Our Masters swim members now have the opportunity to be coached on a Tuesday and Thursday morning at the GC Jolliffe pool, by Ted Townsend.

Ted has been swimming since he was 14. With National Representation in Swimming and Water Polo, he has spent very little time out of the water since! Ted is married to Rita and together they run Rita’s Swim School in Pietermaritzburg, one of the main feeders of swimmers into Seals Competitive Squads. There, Ted coaches the more senior children from 5-6pm in preparation for joining a larger club squad. 

Ted brings both pool and open water swim technique and experience with programmes designed between himself and Wayne Riddin. Swimmers may arrive any time between 05h30 and 08h00 to allow for more flexibility. 

All swimmers with Ted, must be members of Seals Club – click here to join Seals. Once your registration is received, you will be invoiced monthly for R350 pool levy and R250 coaching. We welcome Ted and are excited to see the squad grow and develop!
