Seals Swimming Club currently has over 60 adult members and we are excited to see this group increase in the coming season! For a monthly levy cost of R350, adult members are able to swim weekdays until around 14h30 and on weekends at certain times (please see below). Adult swimmers looking for coaching are welcome to join Ted Townsend’s squad on a Tuesday and Thursday morning each week.

Pool Levies (and Coaching Fees where applicable) are not billed on an ad-hoc basis. From the first month of sign up, you will be invoiced monthly until you give one months written notice to: admin@sealsswimclub.co.za
Adult Swimmers will not have lifeguard assistance when using the facility during opening hours. It is therefore advised that Swimmers do not swim alone. It is the responsibility of all swimmers to bring required medication and to follow instructions from their medical professionals.
Ted Townsend Masters Squad
Our Masters swim members now have the opportunity to be coached on a Tuesday and Thursday morning at the GC Jolliffe pool, by Ted Townsend.
Ted has been swimming since he was 14. With National Representation in Swimming and Water Polo, he has spent very little time out of the water since! Ted is married to Rita and together they run Rita’s Swim School in Pietermaritzburg, one of the main feeders of swimmers into Seals Competitive Squads. There, Ted coaches the more senior children from 5-6pm in preparation for joining a larger club squad.
Ted brings both pool and open water swim technique and experience with programmes designed between himself and Wayne Riddin. Swimmers may arrive any time between 05h30 and 08h00 to allow for more flexibility.
All swimmers with Ted, must be members of Seals Club – click here to join Seals. Once your registration is received, you will be invoiced monthly for R350 pool levy and R250 coaching. We welcome Ted and are excited to see the squad grow and develop!
